My very first white shirt

My very first white shirt 😎

This is the #fibremoodaila shirt by @fibremood. I cut a straight size XS in a breezy ivory linen as a wearable toile, specifically to see how the shoulders fit before using my grumpy girl fabric (thank you for voting pollsters 😘). It doesn’t bunch up at the front nearly as much as I thought it would, so I’m not going to bother adjusting the shoulder slope for my next version.

It was an easy sew and came together quite quickly. I did manage to mess up the back hem (last photo), but I’ll be wearing it tucked in anyway so I’m not going to redo that part. I also had a fight with my buttonhole foot, but won the battle in a second round and can officially button the shirt right up.

I was thinking of dyeing the shirt with avocado stones or onion skins, so I used cotton thread for all the top stitching - but I quite like it this colour so I’ll leave it be for now ☺️

I’ll probably get sauce on this at lunchtime, so at least I have photos to remember how good it used to look! 😂
