Zero waste project 28: bumbag

I made a zero waste bumbag for a gift and I love it so much I want to make another one for myself 😆

This is the #zwwaistbag pattern by @lizhaywood3754 and it is so clever! All the pieces interlock perfectly, and I made this from exactly 14.7x107.5cm of cotton canvas (my fabric is identical on both sides so I didn’t need to cut 2 or make a coin purse to get mirrored pieces for the top).

I knew that I wanted to try a graphic block print on this, so I tried carving a simple design from @jenhewett’s Craftsy class – and I love it! This is a gift so I printed the back, in case he doesn’t love it as much as I do. I especially like the imperfections, which is something I’m actively working on learning to appreciate (I’m that person who’ll rip out a whole page in a notebook if I make a mistake). I like that it looks handmade. I’m going to print more of this canvas fabric, maybe carving some of my own ideas and mixing some colours 😊

I didn’t think I was a bumbag person, but after making this one I’m a definite convert!
