Red satin bra
My latest pride and joy: a ruby red satin underwire bra with glamorous fabric straps!
This is the 6th variant I’ve made in a month of my beloved #mayabra pattern by @afiatelier. This time I added some fabric straps to change it up a bit!
I used plain Duoplex satin on the outside, sheer cup lining on the inside, and enclosed all the seams for a super clean finish, inside and out (look at those pretty bra guts!)✨ As with all the previous ones, I bought all these supplies from the lovely ladies at @bwear.se.
I wasn’t entirely sure if I’d like the fabric straps, but they do feel fancy when I’m wearing it! I’m especially proud of my stitching on this one, I tried my best even if I had to unpick multiple times (always sewing those elastics on backwards 😅)
I’m really happy with my little red bra collection, it’s so nice to be able to wear something pretty and comfortable. I wrote about how to make a bra with this pattern on my new public notebook/blog, because I know I’ll forget the details later. The link is in my bio, and I hope it might help another beginner to make something they’re happy with! ♥️ I’m currently translating the articles into French, and will later add an article about the little style changes I made with each iteration of this pattern.
I think I’ll take a short break from bra making, because I only need so many bras at a time, and I’m trying to only make things I need. Right now I’m lacking undies, some clothes for Spring, and I also have some jeans that need mending. Also socks…what kind of yarn are you supposed to use to knit non-winter socks? 🤔
