I made a tiny sunhat for a tiny person
I made a tiny sunhat for a tiny person 🥰
This is the free #bobletouriste bucket hat by @patronslesbg. The pattern is sized for 50-62cm heads (2 years to adult), and I think it’s in French only. The smallest size is probably a bit big for the little man I made this for, but he should grow into it in a few months. It’s reversible, so he (or his mum) can choose which way he wears it 😊
I made this hat using the linen remnant from my overalls, some of my bright wax fabric for the lining, and a small bit of soft interfacing. It was an easy make, although next time I’ll think about how I could enclose the lining and outer seams together so the lining doesn’t move. Also, other than cutting the pieces with more seams (like I did for the band that goes around the head), I’m not sure how I could reduce the scraps that cutting round shapes leaves… 🤔
I’m generally not a hat person and this was my very first attempt to make one – but it’s so adorable I want one for myself now! Maybe with a bigger brim for extra sun protection (and floppiness). And why not one for winter too (using remnants from the coat I made last year, or a small piece of waterproof nylon)…
