The mending spree continues!
The mending spree continues! 🧦🪡✨
Not the prettiest post, but I keep interrupting my sock knitting project to procrastimend older socks. The hand knitted ones here were made with low quality yarn I bought a long time ago (recycled but not hard wearing), so they keep getting holes in them.
I tried a couple of new-to-me techniques for the hand-knitted socks: a classic darn (done from the inside, I usually darn from the outside) and a stocking web darn (like a Swiss darn/duplicate stitch over a thread frame). I like that the classic darn kind of makes the hole decorative, and I think I prefer the colorful mends better than the less visible ones…
I wonder if I should reinforce new hand knitted socks as soon as they’re off my needles, seeing as the holes are always in the same places! Menders, what do you think?
