Another pair of favorite socks rescued 🧦🪡 ⛑

I’m still not great at pretty hand stitching, but these cute socks are back on this happy lady’s feet again after too many months out of service.

I can’t remember where I even bought these (Seoul maybe?), but I wore them so much for a few years that there wasn’t much sock left underneath. I darned a huge threadbare area with my darning loom, and did some blanket stitch honeycomb darning over smaller holes. The top bands had become too loose to stay on my feet, so I stitched in some elastic thread to tighten them up.

I always get holes on the bottoms of my socks, which means the very visible darning is hardly visible at all from above – so these patches are just secret fun for myself. The placement of the mends on the second sock kind of looks like an ugly face 😆

One day I’ll get good at this 💪
